Easy on my soul, love!

I sadly have to let him leave now, I look every where but at him; afraid he'll catch the clinginess in my eyes, terrified he'll sense the trembling in my soul. 

Stay, I whisper. 

I'll be back again, he assures. 

And I think to myself, why is this parting so hard to bear? 

Why does it always feel like forever when it is only for a few hours?

Why does every ounce of me struggles to temporarily let him go?  

Then it hits me .. 

You're the one that I want ..

Let's spend our mornings drinking tea and our nights reading books, together.

Let's dress up and be seen, together.

Let's share a candy bar as we sit on some front porch, together.

Let's giggle over our inside jokes, together.

Let's enjoy the mere company of each other as we sit in silence, together.

Let's order takeout while we watch a TV show re-run, together.

Let's continue each others' sentences as we enjoy a cup of coffee, together.

Let's have long walks in the sun while we eat icecream, together.

Let's laugh out loud as we judge people, together.

Let's drive around with the windows down while we sing, together.

Let's plan for tomorrow as we try to open a tightly sealed jar, together.

Let's find a beautiful place and get lost, together.

Let’s awkwardly check our reflection on a car’s window as we wander, together.

Let's eat batter off of a wooden spoon as we think out loud, together.

Let's not make sense, together.

Let's day dream about far off places as we browse the internet, together.

Let's hold hands as we talk to strangers, together.

Let's take pictures while we're stuck at some traffic jam, together.

Let's count the grey hairs in my head as we make up scenarios, together.

Let's fall in love with words, together.


Let's do everything together, is it too much to ask for?
